We published a detailed guide on IT outsourcing for the Romanian market, covering the real costs, trade-offs, and decision criteria that small and mid-sized companies face when choosing between an in-house IT department and a managed service provider.
The guide is available in Romanian (primary) and English.
Why we wrote this
Most IT outsourcing content online is either vendor marketing or written for US/UK audiences. Romanian companies operate in a different context: different salary structures (especially after the 2025 IT tax exemption changes), different compliance requirements (NIS2 transposed through OUG 155/2024, refined by Law 124/2025), and different market maturity levels. We wanted to fill that gap with practical, numbers-backed analysis.
What the guide covers
The article walks through several topics that come up in nearly every conversation we have with prospective clients:
- Real cost comparisons between hiring an in-house administrator and contracting an MSP, with 2026 salary data and total employer costs for the Romanian market
- The “invisible IT” principle, the idea that the best IT service is one your team never thinks about because it simply works
- Two detailed scenarios (15-employee firm and 45-employee manufacturer) with side-by-side cost tables
- The hybrid model, where an internal IT coordinator works alongside an external MSP for larger organizations
- Provider selection criteria, what to look for in certifications, SLAs, documentation practices, and exit clauses
- When outsourcing is not the right answer, because it isn’t always
Who it’s for
The guide is aimed at managers, business owners, and decision-makers at Romanian companies with 10 to 400 employees who are evaluating their IT options. Whether you’re considering outsourcing for the first time or re-evaluating an existing arrangement, the comparison framework and cost benchmarks should be useful.
